I met Kristin, the powerhouse designer behind fabulous steampunk-influenced jewelry line Bionic Unicorn, at a holiday artisan fair back in November. And let me tell you, friends, she is FABULOUS. We hit it off immediately and hatched plans to get you folks a few chances to nab some of her pieces for yourselves. I had told myself I was going to use that 15% coupon this january to get a pretty necklace from bionic unicorn. Alas I had forgotten about the lovely furlough laced paycheck we'll be getting from the U this week. Grrrr.
As for the earrings, I think I'd wear them one of my typical all black outfit of winter (you have to stand out in the snow!). I am even add a pretty dainty scarf. I love to mismatch style. I actually almost bought some feathery earrings earlier this week but remembered that I could shop all that freely this month!

These earrings are the statement, so I'd style them minimally. At the beach with a bikini... out on the town with a little balck dress. i would style these by wearing them with a pair of jeans and a black tee with a western cowboy inspired jacket to go with it. keep it neat and simple. a boho look would also go well with it.

Oooh, I love these. I'd wear them with my short, black block-print dress and skinnies, or really pale pinks and creams. I think the feathers could be both dark/quirky and soft/pretty, depending on the outfit.

Those earrings are just the type of piece I like to have to contrast with the more staid blazers and pencil skirts I wear to work. I love using scarves and jewelry to add that bit o' funk and edge, and those earrings would be perfect!

while i'm normally a dress/skirt girl, i think i'd rock these with an understated casual & comfortable look (intended for work) with black skinny jeans, moccasins, a white longsleeved shirt that has an intentionally crinkled look, and a pale rose scarf (the top/scarf paired together has this perfect crisp-but-bohemian look that I think would work perfectly with the earrings).

Wow - love this jewelry. I think I would wear these with a denim skirt, cream chenille sweater, and a funky scarf or cowl.

I also love the idea of pairing something like this with a really edgy outfit, like a leather jacket ensemble. Something to really contradict the softness of the feathers. I like opposites. :)

when i was like 6 years old, i MAY once have pocketed a pair of feather earrings because i just thought they were amazing. nevermind the fact that i didnt actually have pierced ears.
im thinking these earrings would be the standout piece with a simple outfit of black leggings, brown boots, oatmeal tshirt/tunic. maybe a multi-layered chain necklace, but im thinking just the earrings.

I would wear these with my typical weekend outfit-long black norma kamali dress, layered with grey or brown sweaters and cinched with a giant belt. Flat boots or platform sandals depending on the weather. They would look so great peaking out from under my hair.

Oh I'd love to have these earrings! I would keep the outfit really simple and let the earrings stand out. Maybe a off-white tee/sweater/ tunic, jeans, and brown boots. Definitely would have to put my hair up so they get noticed.

I love the color! I'd wear them in the summer with indian braids, a black tank, and a long strip of leather thong wrapped around my wrist. And jeans. Of course.
LOVE the earrings! I'd definitely pair them with a very simple outfit and have the earrings as the "stand out" piece - most probably a fitted long sleeve white shirt, pair of distressed jeans, and a pair of army boots.

I usually wear color, but I would let these earrings be the highlight of my outfit - especially this time of year! I'd wear all black, pull my hair up into a high bun, and let the earrings fly.

ooh, i love these! these would be perfect for combining black and brown (two of my favorite colors) so i'm sure that's what i'd do. however since they're a bit *fancy* i'd probably keep the outfit really simple - dark jeans, a tight black sleeveless tee and a brown wrap sweater. Oh, my, these are sooooo cool. I'd go with a simple, monochrome outfit, probably my pumpkin-colored cable v-neck and matching shimmery nylon skirt, with my fave, super-girly boots (brown with copper sequins and pumpkin-and-cream embroidery).
I have DREAMT about earrings like these...I see myself wearing them with a shawl sweater/wrap I've knit for myself and a black tank and skinny-jean combo. My hair is all natural curly and I can even picture my profile shot in this...

I would give them to my cousin. I'm making her a advent calendar for next Christmas using earrings. I think these would be the ones for Christmas Eve. She loves feathers. They hold a special representation for her. I think she would probably style them with a cute solid color tank top and a pair of jeans, but I'm just guessing here.
