I met Kristin, the powerhouse designer behind fabulous steampunk-influenced jewelry line Bionic Unicorn, at a holiday artisan fair back in November. And let me tell you, friends, she is FABULOUS. We hit it off immediately and hatched plans to get you folks a few chances to nab some of her pieces for yourselves. She was also kind enough to send me the funky-fab earrings you see me wearing above,* and since I'm currently obsessed with all things cobalt blue, I'm just thrilled to have them to wear.
Back in November, I published a 15% off coupon code for Bionic Unicorn, and while you can still get the discount, the code has changed. If you see something in the shop that you'd like to purchase, enter "Iampretty" - that's "I am pretty" with no spaces - to receive 15% off. The discount will automatically populate when you enter the code.
BUT! If you'd also like a shot at winning these beauties for absolutely nothing:
Here's how you enter to win:
- Be a U.S. resident.
- Visit the Bionic Unicorn website.
- Leave a comment on this post telling how you'd style these amazing earrings, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified.
- Cross your fingers!
Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, January 16. I'll draw a winner at random the following week. This contest is open to U.S. residents only. Good luck, everyone

I had told myself I was going to use that 15% coupon this january to get a pretty necklace from bionic unicorn. Alas I had forgotten about the lovely furlough laced paycheck we'll be getting from the U this week. Grrrr.
As for the earrings, I think I'd wear them one of my typical all black outfit of winter (you have to stand out in the snow!). I am even add a pretty dainty scarf. I love to mismatch style. I actually almost bought some feathery earrings earlier this week but remembered that I could shop all that freely this month!
It'd be better if I didn't for to include my email: flygirl.tutoring{at}gmail{dot}com
Love the earrings and although I would not style them, I would gift to my daughter who would look charming in them with a silvery/grey dress she has! thanks for the chance to win - fingers are crossed!

As a big fan of Kristin and her amazing jewels I would be honored to own my first Bionic Unicorn piece! As a fellow jewelry designer I believe that you always start with the bling and go from there. These earrings are the statement, so I'd style them minimally. At the beach with a bikini... out on the town with a little balck dress. I love Kristin's work, so thanks for running this great giveaway!
I'd rather not add my email to a public site, but you can contact me through www.tasharae.com.
Thanks!
Those earrings are absolutely adorable, and if I had to chance to wear them I'd be so psyched! I love feather earrings but haven't had the chance to get myself any...yet! Thanks for this opportunity to win!
roxalox[at]gmail[dot]com
i would style these by wearing them with a pair of jeans and a black tee with a western cowboy inspired jacket to go with it. keep it neat and simple. a boho look would also go well with it.
thank you
jgalex1990@gmail.com
Oooh, I love these. I'd wear them with my short, black block-print dress and skinnies, or really pale pinks and creams. I think the feathers could be both dark/quirky and soft/pretty, depending on the outfit.
Good luck, everyone!

Wow, that is one talented lady!
Those earrings are just the type of piece I like to have to contrast with the more staid blazers and pencil skirts I wear to work. I love using scarves and jewelry to add that bit o' funk and edge, and those earrings would be perfect!
Ooh gorgeous! I would wear them with my plaid cotton dress, brown braided belt and some sandals (or boots for winter).
Ecc3ntriccynic[at]gmail[dot]com
I have a light blue-green dress the color of the surface those babies are pictured on that I think they would go quite well with!
And black boots!
I'd wear the earrings with a navy jersey dress, brown high heeled boots, maybe a woven leather belt, and a cool necklace from Bionic Unicorn.

wow, those are absolutely gorgeous. i also love her jewelry with the timepieces in them. wonderful work.
while i'm normally a dress/skirt girl, i think i'd rock these with an understated casual & comfortable look (intended for work) with black skinny jeans, moccasins, a white longsleeved shirt that has an intentionally crinkled look, and a pale rose scarf (the top/scarf paired together has this perfect crisp-but-bohemian look that I think would work perfectly with the earrings).
Thanks for introducing me to the shop regardless! FAVORITING.

Wow - love this jewelry. I think I would wear these with a denim skirt, cream chenille sweater, and a funky scarf or cowl.
Lovely earrings fitting for my haltered latina inspired dress for this summer. Yay! So exicited.
I LOVE feather earrings. I had a pair I wore to my renaissance festivals all the time until I lost them. :(
I also love the idea of pairing something like this with a really edgy outfit, like a leather jacket ensemble. Something to really contradict the softness of the feathers. I like opposites. :)
vivalagenesis@gmail.com
Beautiful - I'd wear them with black jeans, biker boots, and a gray jacket style shirt I have. Would be beautiful together.
bozburney{at}windstream{dot}net
when i was like 6 years old, i MAY once have pocketed a pair of feather earrings because i just thought they were amazing. nevermind the fact that i didnt actually have pierced ears.
im thinking these earrings would be the standout piece with a simple outfit of black leggings, brown boots, oatmeal tshirt/tunic. maybe a multi-layered chain necklace, but im thinking just the earrings.
sam2979 [at] gmail [dot] com
Nice earrings! I'd wear them with a cute black, peasant-blouse style shirt that I unearthed in a recent closet purge. I like the idea of the dangle feathers skimming bare shoulders.
Beautiful! I'd wear them with a nice pair of black slacks and a bright blue, slightly turquois turtleneck. d[underscore]richard001[at]yahoo[dot]com
I would wear these with my typical weekend outfit-long black norma kamali dress, layered with grey or brown sweaters and cinched with a giant belt. Flat boots or platform sandals depending on the weather. They would look so great peaking out from under my hair.
jennypower66 at gmail dot com
Hey Sal, another wonderful giveaway, and after visiting the site I think I'm in love *swoon* This winter I would wear them with a grey sweater-coat I recently got thrifting, with dark jeans and brown moccasin flats. Thank you for the 15% off code as well!

I think I'd wear these earrings with a brown skirt, navy tights, and mustard cardigan.
I love Bionic Unicorn--has been on my fave list since you introduced us to them... The Woodland Funk collection (of which these earrings are part) is actually pretty high up on my list!
As to how I'd wear them... with the lovely deep green Indian blouse I got for Christmas, a black leather skirt, textured tights, and slouch boots.
email: impaire [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com.
Ahhhh I looked through that site the other day! Normally not my style, but I'm trying to spread my wings a bit :P
I'd wear those earrings with a more funky/artsy outfit then I normally wear. Like my striped shirt with the cross-body zipper. Something like that :)
roueche.r at gmail.com
Faux-leather crop jacket, light green ruffle top, olive ruffle skirt, grey tights, Sorel Cate the Greats... tough, girly, fuzzy & feathered! kellyjr321(at)hotmail(dot)com
Oh I'd love to have these earrings! I would keep the outfit really simple and let the earrings stand out. Maybe a off-white tee/sweater/ tunic, jeans, and brown boots. Definitely would have to put my hair up so they get noticed.
Ooh ooh! pick me!
Lovely earrings. What a great collection of jewelry she has!
I might start by wearing these with a basic black turtleneck and maxi skirt: let the earrings be the star on their first time out.
These are lovely! I would, as many others have said, wear a simple black top with this, and I think a floor-length black leather skirt with boots and a simple scarf belt.
emily (dot) mcintyre (at) rocketmail.com
beautiful! I would wear those with my dark teal sweater dress over dark wash jeans and boots. Or with a bright maxi dress and beaded sandals.
vanderyacht (at) yahoo (dot) com
I love these earrings!! I would pair them with a floaty white skirt and a pinky/purple sparkly bohemian shirt I have :)

Anything that has unicorn in its name is destined to get my love, so there's that.
I'd definitely wear those with a cream top, jeans and boots, or perhaps a yellow jacket and blue dress with a brown leather belt. So many possibilities...
love these earrings! I would like to keep it simple and let the earrings be the star. I would wear flared jeans, a white tank, big brown belt and maybe a big floppy hat. very 70's, very spring.
kayestar26ATgmailDOTcom
I would wear these with a denim shirt dress, a bright belt ( maybe purple...?!) , brown leggings and some knee high riding boots!
Benson.Alyson@gmail.com
I love the color! I'd wear them in the summer with indian braids, a black tank, and a long strip of leather thong wrapped around my wrist. And jeans. Of course.
LOVE the earrings! I'd definitely pair them with a very simple outfit and have the earrings as the "stand out" piece - most probably a fitted long sleeve white shirt, pair of distressed jeans, and a pair of army boots.
anbreenf(at)gmail(dot)com
I would let these babies shine, by pairing with jeans and a solid colored sweater and boots. I think they would go with either black or brown. Just for fun I might 'em with my pumpkin orange sweater. I would be sure to pull my hair back so you could see all the fabulousness.
saw117 at wdemail dot com
Black moto leggings, a grey boho tunic, a black long-sleeved layer tee underneath, and my new snow boots! (Hello, snow, my evil friend...)
libgirl9@hotmail.com
I am a feather earring fool. No, it's true, my family mocks me for it, but they just don't understand.
These are fabulous and I would wear them my olive-y brown maxi dress and bronze sandals in the summer.
Great giveaway, Sal!

Hm, how would I wear these...WITH EVERYTHING. the end.
Thanks for the giveaway, Sal!
jrose.wonder@gmail.com
These are so cool! I think I would first wear them with my cream/beige crocheted dress, some funky tights, and my blue suede pumps. So cool!
tlufkin (at) gmail.com
These earrings are crying out for a black cowl neck sweater! Good thing I just bought one!
smilingfish75 at yahoo dot com
These earrings are lovely - simple and natural. Visited the website and many of the other things are a bit busy, but I love the Great Horned owl feather necklace as well. I'd wear them with an off white long cowl lightweight sweater and long shades-of-brown-and-rust linen skirt and tan boots.
Michelle.pallas@gmail.com
I love her immediately- we have the same name, spelled the same.
I would wear the earrings with jeans, a belt, a black top, and my new gray boots. Simple and classic.
alohadelgado@hawaiiantel.net
1. Sweet hat: My wide-brimmed gray hat with a black band and buckle.
2. A simple necklace: silver chain, golden key.
3. Dress/tunic. Navy with rose/beige flower print.
4. Tights. Gray.
5. Lace up boot wedges. Olive-brown.
hlynn117@gmail.com
I'd rock those sweet feather earrings with my cream button up cardigan, fitted jeans and brown knee-high boots.
My daughter loves steampunk style, so I'll be shopping for gifts for her on the website.
I'd like those feather earrings for myself! I'd try them with a black or brown shirt and skirt.
orderingformom(at)aol.com
I just bought a velvet blazer so I'll try to put them together with some skinnies.
Worldexploded@yahoo.com
Love her items! Added her page to my favorites.
I'd style the earrings with my new gray sweater dress and black riding boots.
PaGirl72(at)gmail(dot)com
I usually wear color, but I would let these earrings be the highlight of my outfit - especially this time of year! I'd wear all black, pull my hair up into a high bun, and let the earrings fly.
Once it's summertime, all bets are off. I would probably go the opposite direction and wear them with a white sundress. Either way, they would be the star. :)
anterastilis at gmail dot com!
I'd style them with my steampunk costume: a pair of layered skirts, a green leather corset, some stompy boots and a turban.
jedichick3 (at) hotmail (dot)com
I love all of those earrings. They are just my style!. I would pair the feather earrings with skinny jeans, a top with short leather jacket and a pair of fun booties. Perfection.
yourloveisasong(at)gmail(dot)com
GORGEOUS earrings. I would pair these with my chunky sweater dress, black tights and boots. And of course, I would wear my hair up so that EVERYONE could see.
angelabakes (at) gmail (dot) com
Wow! Love their stuff - shared a favorite piece on my fb page.
I'd wear them lots of ways - one of my favorite outfits right now is a black/brown mix, out of my comfort zone but I'm loving it. Black silk/cotton cardigan over a brown short-sleeved cashmere sweater, black/brown/cream print full skirt, black tights, dark brown booties. But these earrings would work so many ways.
oh my i love the Peacock Equinox Steampunk Feather Necklace!
i'd style these earrings with all black...skinny jeans, tank, and pumps! that way, they'd be the star of the outfit!
thanks xx
DolphinV27@aol.com
These are gorgeous!! I sincerely hope I win them.
I would pair them with a pair of jeans, knee high brown leather boots, and a simple, long-sleeved black tee. I might add a faux-fur vest, but the earrings definitely deserve to be the focus of the outfit.
Email is bergdorfblonde88 at gmail dot com
These are really, really lovely. I've been looking for new feather earrings.
Mmm...I hope I win!
email: in.diluvians.wake[at]gmail[dot]com
ooh, i love these! these would be perfect for combining black and brown (two of my favorite colors) so i'm sure that's what i'd do. however since they're a bit *fancy* i'd probably keep the outfit really simple - dark jeans, a tight black sleeveless tee and a brown wrap sweater. (and my standard gray suede boots with brown soles.) and if makeup counts, nude lips and smoky eyes!
marisaring@gmail.com
These are the coolest damn earrings on the planet. I think I'd try to channel Erin of Work With What You've Got, and go rockabilly with these bad boys.
betweenlaundrydays@gmail.com
so many possibilities...I think I'd probably end up wearing these with a fairly simple jeans/sweater combo and my owl-print scarf!
velorutionista [at] gmail [dot] com
Oh, my, these are sooooo cool. I'd go with a simple, monochrome outfit, probably my pumpkin-colored cable v-neck and matching shimmery nylon skirt, with my fave, super-girly boots (brown with copper sequins and pumpkin-and-cream embroidery).
I have DREAMT about earrings like these...I see myself wearing them with a shawl sweater/wrap I've knit for myself and a black tank and skinny-jean combo. My hair is all natural curly and I can even picture my profile shot in this...
Shall I just keep dreaming? Time will tell...
I would give them to my cousin. I'm making her a advent calendar for next Christmas using earrings. I think these would be the ones for Christmas Eve. She loves feathers. They hold a special representation for her. I think she would probably style them with a cute solid color tank top and a pair of jeans, but I'm just guessing here.
mistiewatkins@yahoo.com
I'd probably keep them for special occasions, and pair them with my one-shouldered bronze, shimmery party dress from Express. Big earrings are always a plus when it's impractical to wear a necklace!
Thanks!

I'd wear the earrings with a chunky green top and tight black leggings!
ladyloriana [at] gmail [dot] com
LOVE IT! These earrings would be the perfect match for my short sleeved sweater dress with my black leggings and knee high boots. An awesome contrast to an otherwise conservative outfit....and of course my fuchsia hair!
