KUT from the KLOTH Denim Review and Giveaway

It took some convincing to get me into a pair of KUT jeans, I'll tell ya. The good folks from Shop Adorn worked on me for a while before I agreed, since I know my body to be very fussy when it comes to denim. But eventually, I caved and was sent these KUT skinny jeans in white.*

And they're really adorable. A little lower rise than I generally prefer, but soft, stretchy, comfortable, and flattering. And that bright white is so perfect for summer!

Shop Adorn is generously providing a pair of KUT jeans for an Already Pretty reader, too! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.

  2. Visit Shop Adorn and choose between the KUT skinny jeans and KUT boyfriend jeans.

  3. Like Shop Adorn on Facebook.or sign up for the Shop Adorn e-newsletter. You MUST do one of these things to enter.

  4. Leave a comment on this post telling us how you'd wear your new jeans, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified.

  5. Cross your fingers!

Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, May 1, 2011. I'll draw a winner at random the following week. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Good luck

Foley + Corinna Review and Giveaway

I've said many times that I'm a shoe girl, NOT a handbag girl. But lately, I feel myself taking more of an interest in bags. I'm still too lazy to swap out my bag every single day so that it works perfectly with my outfit, but I'm starting to accumulate a pretty fabulous collection of functional-but-attractive bags.

Now, I've loved the look of the Foley + Corinna Mid-City Tote for several years. I remember ogling this bag in magazines and needing to wipe my drool from the glossy pages. But I'm extremely finicky about my handbags. I like them to be comfortable to carry, easy to access, and fit with my personal style and aesthetic. And I worried that the Mid-City would be fussy, that it would slouch weirdly when folded over, that it would annoy the crap out of me in everyday life.

Then the amazing folks at Foley + Corinna sent me a Mid-City Tote in Waxy Tumble Natural Grain Leather in this amazing teal. And after I'd spent about three hours making out with its soft, supple, yet scratch- and stain-resistant leather, I threw my stuff inside and took it for a test run.

And it WORKS, my friends.

Not only is this bag a stunner, it's easy to use and carry. The briefcase handles are comfortable but structured, and work equally well in the hand and on the forearm. And when carried by these shorter handles, the long strap just magically drapes itself across the bag in the most casual-chic way imaginable.

I will admit that the longer shoulder strap is a bit narrow for my taste, and cuts into my shoulder a little. But the bag folds itself so perfectly in half every single time that I just marvel. It must be something about the placement of the d-rings for the strap that force the bag itself to divide perfectly in half and sit quietly on my hip. Amazing.

I am seriously so thrilled with my Mid-City that I'm saving my pennies for a second one in a neutral tone. This bag is, hands down, the classiest, coolest, loveliest bag I own. And that's saying something.

Now, before you collapse into fits of jealousy over this bag, hear this: Foley + Corinna is letting me give away a Mid-City Tote to one lucky Already Pretty reader!

Accessory Artists Review and Giveaway

A few weeks back, I was contacted by Accessory Artists about a review and giveaway. As I've said before, I'm always delighted to give away quality, stylish merchandise to Already Pretty readers ... but I get a special charge out of giving away artisan crafts, jewelry, and garments. In Accessory Artists' mission, the company states that it carries "jewelry created by independent, established as well as emerging jewelry designers whose vision and work translate into wearable art pieces that are both inspirational and impressive."And having pored over their gorgeous offerings, I can confirm this to be true.

I was sent the lovely Silver Bubble earrings you see above as a review item.* They are beautifully designed and such a perfect shape and size for someone with thick, dark hair like me ... though I can imagine them being equally striking worn with an up-do or against lighter hair. They've got a subtle hammered texture, are light as feathers, and suit my style perfectly.

If they suit yours, too, you're in luck! I've got a pair to give away to one lucky reader! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.

  2. Like Accessory Artists on Facebook. You MUST do this to enter, we will be checking entries.

  3. Leave a comment on this post telling us what you'd wear with these earrings, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified.

  4. Cross your fingers!

Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, April 24, 2011. I'll draw a winner at random the following week. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Good luck.

Karen Kane Review and Giveaway

I've been familiar with the Karen Kane brand for years, but mostly through thrifting. I knew that the company made great, durable basics, and that when I came across their wares in my thrift outings, they constituted fabulous finds. But since I'd never bought their products new from department stores or online, I was excited to get the chance to review a few pieces from their 2011 spring and summer lines.* Several of these items are not yet for sale - so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled over the next few months - but I'll link to the ones that are currently available!

Above you see me in a pair of Karen Kane jeggings. I've worn these babies twice already (see the previous outfit here), and I am incredibly impressed. I own a pair of very legging-like jeggings from Hue, a pair of very jean-like jeggings from the Gap, and now these. This Karen Kane version presents the best merge of denim and legging that I've yet experienced and has quickly become my favorite pair. Initially, I was put off by the wide black elastic waistband (which is undeniably odd), but since it will never, ever be seen by anyone but me and gives the jeggings an incredibly comfortable and relatively high rise, I got over my doubts in no time flat. They stretch but don't get distended, launder beautifully, fit very close to the calf, and feel truly fantastic.

I am totally enamored of this slinky, sassy, black Asymmetric Hem Dress. The jersey is heavy and drapes beautifully, and the style is so fabulously versatile. Here, I styled it with a black shrug and studded gladiator heels, but this tank-style dress will look just as gorgeous on its own, once warmer weather permits.

This printed scoopneck dress is so adorable, I can hardly stand it. The graphic print reminds me of a birch tree, and seems simultaneously geometric and organic. The ruched cap sleeves are comfy and cute, the A-line skirt is flirty and flattering, and the scooped neck leaves just enough room for a fun statement necklace. Total love.

Cobalt blue is super trendy this spring, so I was tickled to receive this darling printed tank dress (here in plus sizes, though it will eventually be available in non-plus.) It's a lined dress with a micro-mesh overlay, so it has a wonderfully floaty feel. The above-the-knee hemline is just to my taste, and I adore the simple, elegant, flared-skirt styling.

And finally, this lace-and-tulle confection is just wild, isn't it? I'm not sure I would've picked it out for myself, but now that I've got it in my hot little hands, I'm cooking up more and more fun ways to deploy it. The dress is another tank style, a simple sheath shape, but has a matte black lining, black lace overlay, and rectangles of tulle stitched on for a truly funky texture. Take a peek:

I dressed it down with my jean jacket for this photo shoot, but it'll be fabulous dressed UP, too. Just imagine it with a rhinestone bracelet and hot pink lips. Smokin'.

Now that I've got you worked up into a frenzy over these fabulous offerings, let's talk about the giveaway portion of this post, shall we? You won't BELIEVE the fantastic prize that Karen Kane is offering to Already Pretty readers: A $200 Karen Kane Styling Day.

This means that if the winner lives within 50 miles of a store that carries Karen Kane, the company will arrange a day for the winner to meet with one of their stylists and pick out an outfit for $200 or less! If the winner lives outside of that radius, Karen Kane will send a $200 AmEx gift card and provide a 1-hour over-the-phone style consultation as the winner browses looks online. Amazing! Generous! Awesome!

Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.

  2. Follow Karen Kane on Twitter, like Karen Kane on Facebook, or sign up for the Karen Kane e-newsletter (enter your e-mail in the middle of the page). You MUST do one of these three to enter.

  3. Visit Karen Kane and pick out an outfit that you'd love to have and wear, should you win.

  4. Leave a comment on this post telling us about your chosen outfit, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified.

  5. Cross your fingers!

Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, April 17, 2011. I'll draw a winner at random the following week. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Good luck!

Tsubo Giveaway

As always, I'm just delighted to be working with Tsubo on another review and giveaway. My love for this shoe brand is well documented on Already Pretty, and I have long considered their shoes to be my wardrobe workhorses.

I was sent these funky green Louros sandals to review.*

Oh, how I love those vibrant colors! Tsubo often shies away from bright colors in their designs, and I'm delighted to see them branching out with these sandals. They are comfortable, but they do run both long in the length and wide, in my opinion. I generally wear an 8 in Tsubos, and these 8s are quite big on me. Great news for those of you with wider feet, but means the rest of us should order a half size down for sure.

Any chance you'd like to give a pair of Tsubos a spin yourself? Well luckily I've got a pair of these Louros sandals to give away to a lucky Already Pretty reader. Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.

  2. Visit Tsubo and check out the Louros in scope out the Louros in green and black.

  3. Leave a comment on this post telling us how you'd style these adorable sandals if you won, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified.

  4. Cross your fingers!

Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, April 10, 2011. I'll draw a winner at random the following week. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Good luck!
