I've been ogling Silvercocoon jewelry in local boutiques and galleries for AGES, so when a friend put me in touch with designer Tia, I was over the moon! We chatted about her gorgeous line and I had to keep myself from begging her to send me one of everything ... and eventually we landed on her POD earrings as an ideal piece for a review and giveaway.
I'm a lifelong devotee of hoop earrings, but with my new haircut certain hoop styles stick out strangely from my lobes. These cleverly-designed hoops, however, work beautifully with my face shape and are just as elegant and eye-catching as they can be.
If you're like me and just love great hoops, I think you'll find these to be perfect everyday earrings. I was sent the POD earrings in matte red, wood, and translucent to try and keep*, and have an identical second set to give away to one lucky Already Pretty reader! Oh, these are so neat! I run into the same problem -- I have short hair, so I feel big earrings are hard to style without looking too eighties-inspired. I'd style the red ones with a gray and white striped shirt, straight legged jeans, and some red flats.

Hoops! I love hoops and also have a short haircut, so I've found big earrings to be a fabulous accessory. I tend to wear simple, monochromatic ensembles, so I would love some big red hoops to jazz things up!

Signed up for the newsletter. I love the wood cuts! These earrings could be just what I need to get the motivation back to wear earrings again. I love wearing long, graceful earrings but I think most of the styles available look too dressed-up for my everyday. These, however, are perfect.
The maple wood earrings are to die for! I'd wear them with my brown pashmina, paisly tank top, and camel cardi!

These laser cut earrings in red are my favorites. I would style them as updated hoops with just about anything -- to funkify a black suit for the office, to give an instant update to outfits for happy hour, and with just about any color shift dress for weekends.

I am in love with SilverCocoon, I follow SilverCocoon via Facebook and the newsletter! I think Tia's grasp of structural elegance is the definition of perfection! I love the simplicity of these earrings and would wear them an over-sized sweater, brown straight leg cords and camel colored booties for a cozy fall look.

I think these would suit my short hair the way they suit yours, and I can think of a million ways I'd wear both the red ones and the wooden ones--the wooden ones with a grey dress I have and yet more wooden jewelry, and the red ones with my polka-dot bubble-hem dress and a red belt (because, as you well know, sometimes you just can't help but match).
I love the architectural nature of Silver Cocoon's laser-cut earrings. Any of these three pairs would be styled with any of several black or charcoal turtlenecks, black cropped wool pants, vivid tights, and wing-tip granny boots.Plus, I would pull my shoulder-length hair into a low pony to really highlight the earrings.

I'd give these to my daughter, the entomologist (cocoons = insect connection). She'd probably wear them with a plain black turtleneck, hair in her signature long braid, and cargo pants. And then she'd regale anyone who complimented her with very interesting information about lepidopteran pupae.

I've been a fan of Tia's work for some time now, and a fan of her Facebook page too.
I would give these earrings to my lovely wife so she could add them to her arty, crafty, eclectic wardrobe. Then I would save one pair for my toddler daughter for when she's old enough to have earrings. I think this style is fun, but timeless. These earrings will still be cool when my daughter is much older.

What would I do if I won the red earrings?
Well, I am in the process of sewing 13 pair of red lined plaid mittens for my daughters synchronized skating team! Their music this year is a mix of songs from Italy! The skating Moms are wearing red this year as we cheer on our daughters at their skating events. Can you imagine how fabulous these red earrings would look with my ensemble as I cheer on these beautiful graceful figure skaters? :)
