Shopping can be so stressful. It takes time and energy which, for many of us, are in short supply. Enter CakeStyle, a personal styling service for busy women that delivers a box of handpicked clothing and accessories to your door each season. Their expert stylists select pieces from brands like Elie Tahari, Diane von Furstenberg, and Theory based on your fit and wardrobe needs. They send your box to your door, you keep what you love, and send back the rest. Shipping both ways and stylists' services are free!

This giveaway is a little different than most, so please take note of the following:

  • We'll be giving away a $100 credit to be applied toward a CakeStyle purchase. Please take a look a the site's pricing overview to see what you're likely to spend on a season's pickings. You'll definitely need to chip in a bit on your own!

Fall Focus with Pinterest and Rivet & Sway

Although I don't wear specs myself, I'm thrilled to be presenting this week's giveaway with designer eyewear company, Rivet & Sway. And here's why:

Rivet & Sway is a boutique online eyewear company exclusively for women. They employ a stylist whose role is to help women choose the perfect frame for their face shape, coloring, and personal style. Since picking a pair of frames can be a tricky proposition - especially via an online vendor - this company has figured out a way to make the experience customizable and personal. Love that!

Rivet & Sway wants to give away a pair of frames and lenses to one lucky Already Pretty reader, including a session with their stylist! We're hoping to unleash your creativity in this contest, so we're utilizing Pinterest, my personal favorite web time-waster. Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident
  2. Follow Rivet & Sway and Already Pretty on Pinterest.
  3. Pin a frame from rivetandsway.com.
  4. Create a pinboard around the frame and call it "Fall Focus." Create a look, tell a story, create a mood! Peek at Rivet & Sway's board as an example.
  5. Leave a comment on this post with a link to your board  and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)
  6. Enter by midnight CST on Monday, November 19, 2012.

One winner will be chosen for the most detailed and creative board so have fun with it!

Contest details:
  • Open to U.S. residents only.
  • One winner will receive their choice of one Rivet & Sway frame, including ultra-thin prescription lenses and anti-scratch and glare-free coatings.
  • Prize must be redeemed by 12/31/12.
  •  Note that Rivet & Sway currently offers only single vision lenses; they cannot fulfill "progressives" or bifocals at this time

Be sure to enter by midnight CST on Monday, November 19, 2012. Good luck!

ECCO Sculptured 65 Collection Review and Giveaway

ECCO is one of those companies that I've known by reputation for years, but never tried for myself. So when the company contacted me about a collaboration, I was thrilled. They've recently released a new line called Sculptured 65, which includes five heeled styles designed for comfort and sleek beauty. I was sent the Sculptured 65 Tall Boot to review and keep.*

If you, too, are aware of ECCO's reputation, you likely know that the company prides itself on crafting comfortable, walkable, supportive shoes. And these boots deliver in a big way. The first time I wore them, I was on my feet for three straight hours while working with a client, and they were fantastic the whole time. I've worn them on long walks, too, and they've never once given me a twinge. They are, hands down, my most comfortable heeled boots.

I'm delighted to have a free pair of shoes from the ECCO Sculptured 65 Collection to give away to one lucky Already Pretty reader. The winner will get to select her favorite style from the ECCO site! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident
  2. Visit ECCO.com and peruse the Fall offerings.
  3. Leave a comment on this post telling us which style of Sculptured 65 shoes you'd select if you won (the handbag style is not available as a prize), and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)

Vivat Veritas Review and Coupon Code

Several months back, I got in touch with Chie Duncan, the lovely designer behind Vivat Veritas. She proposed that we collaborate on designing a dress. Now, I don't fancy myself a designer in the least, but since my end basically just involved submitting an inspiration board, I was totally game. I sent this along:

The green dress is a favorite of mine, but that neckline is super tricky. I was hoping for something similar, but more versatile and appropriate for everyday wear. A few weeks ago, Chie sent me this lovely frock:

It's plaid, high-waisted, features a full skirt and sleeves, and has a much easier neckline to style. Needless to say, I love it! It was such fun working with Chie to envision this dress.

While you can certainly collaborate with Chie at Vivat Veritas on a custom piece, she's generously offering 15% off any pre-made in her store! (Also works in her Etsy store.) Just use coupon code PRETTY15 when you check out to receive the discount.

Shop Adorn Review, Giveaway, and Coupon Code!

My love of Prairie Underground is no secret, so you KNOW that when I got a note from the fabulous folks at Portland-based Shop Adorn about checking out some pieces from their new fall line, I did a little dance of joy. They sent me the Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie in Brown Out and the Nouveau Legging in Black to review and keep.*

The Long Cloak Hoodie is a fabulous garment in every way. It's comfortable, washable, and durable but also interesting and eye-catching. I never fail to get compliments and comments when I wear mine, and I'm thrilled to have this hoodie in a dark neutral for fall and winter. I finally switched things up and tried it with a dress, and LOVE how it looks! This year, the Long Cloak is available in a gorgeous magenta - snap one up before they sell out. (If this longline version doesn't send you, check out the Mid-Victorian Hoodie or standard Cloak Hoodie instead.) I wear a size 8 dress and take a size medium in this garment.

Prairie Underground jeans and leggings are also a longtime favorite of mine. I've got two pairs of their Denim Girdle leggings, but these black cotton Nouveau ones are new to me. I already adore them. They've got subtle but artful stitching and piecing all along the legs and are made from a lightweight denim-y twill. Such a great upgrade from a basic black cotton legging. I wear a size 10/12 pant and the size medium was too snug, so I went with a large.

In addition to stocking Prairie, Shop Adorn carries a great selection of local Oregon designers as well as loads of my other favorite brands like Ellington bags, LAMade, and Sanctuary. These folks have fabulous taste, and their stock of tastefully casual and artfully made garments shows it.

If you're just itching to try some Prairie Underground pieces yourself, I've got good news! Shop Adorn is offering s $50 gift card to one lucky Already Pretty reader! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Head over to Shop Adorn
  2. Leave a comment on this post telling us which garment you'd select if you won the gift card, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)
  3. Cross your fingers!
Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, September 23, 2012. I'll draw a winner at random the following day. This giveaway is open to everyone, including international readers.

AND even if you don't end up winning, there's still good news! Shop Adorn is offering Already Pretty readers 10% off any purchase through September 30. Just enter code ALREADYPRETTY10 when you check out to receive the discount. YAY!

Good luck!

Sierra Trading Post Review and Giveaway

Sierra Trading Post will forever hold a special place in my online bargain shopper's heart. Why, you ask? Because I purchased my very first pair of Frye boots from their site more than five years ago. I nabbed my dusty brown Campus boots for $99 - about one-third their typical retail cost - and the experience cemented my belief that great brands can be procured at affordable prices. (Last winter, I bought a pair of Sorel boots at 50% off from Sierra Trading Post, too!) It's been a while since I've scoured the extensive STP offerings, but when the company contacted me about a collaboration, I was thrilled. This website is a great source for brand-name bargains of all kinds.

I was sent this 100% cotton Neve Trudy Cardigan to review and keep.*

I actually spotted (no pun intended) this very cardigan at a boutique up in Ely last fall. It comes in four gorgeous colorways, and I'd been eyeing up the "Sprout" version. Looking at my options on the Sierra Trading Post site, though, I went for the still-adorable but more utilitarian "Ivory" option. This cardigan is a great mid-weight cotton with a thick but pliable weave. It runs a wee bit large, so I ordered down - a size small fit my typically medium/size 6-8 top perfectly. The cardigan is shaped at the waist, but fits comfortably without pulling. And hey! Check out the interior:

(Pay no attention to that biker. Although he does match the color scheme quite nicely ...) The cardigan isn't reversible, but I'll have fun making some false lapels with my fashion tape next time I wear it!

Sierra Trading Post has a reputation for supplying outdoorsy types with coats, boots, tents, and field gear ... and those things are available in abundance on the site. But the stylish shopper will be keen to know that they stock Born, Sofft, Clarks, Danso, Tsubo, Frye, and Anne Klein shoes, as well as clothing from Cole Haan, 7 for All Mankind, Magaschoni, Ellen Tracy, Kenneth Cole, Lucky Brand, and many more. It's a great resource for quality clothing, shoes, and accessories of all kinds at deeply discounted prices.

I'm super excited to have a $200 gift card to Sierra Trading post to give away to one lucky Already Pretty reader! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.
  2. Like Sierra Trading Post on Facebook.
  3. While you're over there, sign up for the DealFlyer email program in the provided interface. DealFlyer members receive offers like free shipping, extra discounts (up to 25%), top-secret sales, giveaways, and more. (Terms and conditions here. STP privacy policy here.)
  4. Cross your fingers!

Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, September 16, 2012. Sierra Trading Post will draw a winner at random the following day. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only.

Good luck!

Foxcroft Review and Giveaway

Since my previous collaboration with Foxcroft, I've become even more impressed with the company's offerings. In addition to creating classic button-front shirts and blouses in sizes through 24W, Foxcroft does an amazing job of crafting garments that stand up to wear and tear. When they asked if I'd be interested in trying any of their new products, I jumped at the chance. I was sent this Stretch Cotton Essentials Tunic to review.*

This tunic has some great shaping details, but still has a relatively loose, forgiving fit. It's a bit shorter than my ideal for a tunic, which means it will work fabulously on petites and women looking to adjust torso/leg proportions. The fabric is sturdy but pliable, and looked freshly laundered even after a full day's wear. I am usually a size 6 or 8 on top, and was sent a size 6. I could probably have taken a size 4 in this style, so I'd say it runs a size bigger than is typical of most mall brands. It comes in a variety of on-trend colors, and is a great piece for anyone who likes to lend a clean, classic feel to her casual looks.

I'm thrilled to be giving away winner's choice of garment from the Foxcroft site to one lucky Already Pretty reader! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.
  2. Like Foxcroft on Facebook.
  3. Visit the Foxcroft website to pick out your favorite piece. (Plus sizes are under Women's.)
  4. Leave a comment on this post telling us which garment you'd select if you won, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)
  5. Cross your fingers!

Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, September 9, 2012. I'll draw a winner at random the following day. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only.

Tsubo Review and Giveaway

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you'll know I'm a die-hard Tsubo fan. So I'm just thrilled to be collaborating with Tsubo for another giveaway. This company is my go-to for well-made, comfortable, classic, durable pumps and heels and I've recommend their wares to just about every single one of my consult clients.

I was sent a pair of Tsubo Dufay Heels to review and keep.*

I am TELLING you, friends, this is my ideal pump. The almond toe is elegant and timeless, the heel is sturdy and walkable, that little stretch panel at the back of the shoe has just enough give to prevent scraping and blisters, and the padded footbed is fantastically comfortable. This season they come in this light camel (just about nude on me), as well as bright red, pale gray, black, burgundy, slate gray, olive, and light brown. If I had the cash, I'd snap 'em up in every color.

I'm delighted to have a free pair of Tsubo Dufays to give away to one lucky Already Pretty reader. The winner will get to select her favorite color from the Tsubo site! Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a resident of the lower 48 U.S. states.
  2. Visit Tsubo.com and peruse the Fall offerings.
  3. Leave a comment on this post telling us which color of the  Dufay Heels you'd select if you won, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)
  4. Cross your fingers!

Alivia May Review , Giveaway, and Coupon Code

As you all know, I'm a fan of statement jewelry. And I've tried to whip up a few multi-media necklaces myself. They look fantastic ... and fall apart in seconds. So when the good folks at up-and-coming jewelry designer Alivia May approached me about a review and giveaway, I jumped at the chance!

I was sent this gorgeous hand-knotted statement necklace to review and keep.*

The necklace fits pretty close to my neck, so I used an extender chain for this outfit and these photos. But the piece itself is substantial without being too heavy, extremely well made, and simply gorgeous to behold. I'm thrilled to have found such a talented designer whose designs are fun, funky, and contemporary.

Alivia May is offering up a different design to one lucky Already Pretty reader. You could win this gorgeous Pearl Statement Necklace:

Perfect for pairing with light colors for summer, but versatile and classic enough to transition beautifully into fall and winer! Aaaaaand here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Be a U.S. resident.
  2. Sign up for the Alivia May e-newsletter. (At the top right corner, look for the bar that says "Enter your email." Pop your e-mail address in there, and click "submit.")

In fact, they’re hoping that some of you will consider joining this week and, to sweeten the deal, the site's masterminds are offering up a $100 gift card to any of the retailers featured in the Go Chic or Go Home Shop section.
