Gudrun Sjödén Review and Giveaway

Confession time: I've recommended Swedish designer Gudrun Sjödén's vibrant line of funky, creative clothing to many friends and clients. I did this for two reasons: The first is that I've never seen anything quite like her designs, which are loose and forgiving but also arty and eye-catching. The second is that I passed along my very first Gudrun catalog to my old boss - a petite, apple-shaped woman who was, hands down, one the best-dressed human beings I've ever met - and she ADORED the pieces she ordered and wore. All that said, I'd never tried or worn any of Gudrun's designs myself.

Until now! And I'm thrilled (and relieved) to report that they're every bit as comfortable and well-made as I'd hoped. I was sent the Krumelur eco-cotton/modal jersey tunic to try and keep.*

This tunic makes me deeply happy. It's fitted toward the top and flares at the bottom, which is pretty much my ideal shape. The print is such fun - quirky for sure, but done in a subdued palette so it doesn't veer off into psychedelia. And construction is top-notch. Just love the subtle ruching detail at the left shoulder. This may be my first, Gudrun piece, but I'm certain it will not be my last. (Sizing note: Garments run fairly large. I took a size small and am typically a size medium/8-10 in mall sizes.)
I'm unspeakably excited to be partnering with Gudrun Sjödén for a giveaway! The winner will be able to select the garment of her choice from the Gudrun website. Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Visit Gudrun Sjödén and peruse the gorgeous offerings.
  2. Leave a comment on this post telling us which garment you'd select from the shop if you won, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)
  3. Cross your fingers!
Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, September 15, 2013. I'll draw a winner at random the following day. This giveaway is open to everyone, including international readers.

Good luck!

Long linen/cotton vest in burgundy (35) or black (55) -- would love to layer with this in the winter!

Oooooh the tiered cotton/rayon skirt, in ink blue! So beautiful!

(Although you make that tunic look great, it's tempting to get one of them!!!)

The "Roslagen" fingerless cotton gloves in the black; I love the contrast of colours and I have such a weakness for fingerless gloves.

Everything is gorgeous, but I kept going back to the Soderora blouse, I think in teal -although the orange is gorgeous, too!

I would select the Iris lyocell dress in Poppy.

"Ängskär" cotton cardigan in Salvia is my choice.

The "Roslagen" cotton coat in natural black is highly tempting. If it was regularly chillier here, that would be my pick.

It's almost impossible to choose as they are all so lovely, but I would happily accept the silk and cotton tunic in Saliva!
