Gudrun Sjödén Review and Giveaway

Confession time: I've recommended Swedish designer Gudrun Sjödén's vibrant line of funky, creative clothing to many friends and clients. I did this for two reasons: The first is that I've never seen anything quite like her designs, which are loose and forgiving but also arty and eye-catching. The second is that I passed along my very first Gudrun catalog to my old boss - a petite, apple-shaped woman who was, hands down, one the best-dressed human beings I've ever met - and she ADORED the pieces she ordered and wore. All that said, I'd never tried or worn any of Gudrun's designs myself.

Until now! And I'm thrilled (and relieved) to report that they're every bit as comfortable and well-made as I'd hoped. I was sent the Krumelur eco-cotton/modal jersey tunic to try and keep.*

This tunic makes me deeply happy. It's fitted toward the top and flares at the bottom, which is pretty much my ideal shape. The print is such fun - quirky for sure, but done in a subdued palette so it doesn't veer off into psychedelia. And construction is top-notch. Just love the subtle ruching detail at the left shoulder. This may be my first, Gudrun piece, but I'm certain it will not be my last. (Sizing note: Garments run fairly large. I took a size small and am typically a size medium/8-10 in mall sizes.)
I'm unspeakably excited to be partnering with Gudrun Sjödén for a giveaway! The winner will be able to select the garment of her choice from the Gudrun website. Here's what you've got to do to enter:
  1. Visit Gudrun Sjödén and peruse the gorgeous offerings.
  2. Leave a comment on this post telling us which garment you'd select from the shop if you won, and A VALID E-MAIL. Comments without a valid e-mail in the comment will be disqualified. (Best policy: note your e-mail like this: sally [at] alreadypretty [dot] com)
  3. Cross your fingers!
Enter by midnight CST on Sunday, September 15, 2013. I'll draw a winner at random the following day. This giveaway is open to everyone, including international readers.

Good luck!

That Roslagen Coat! Beautiful and looks like a great mix between warm enough but not too warm, great for me down here on the Gulf. Also, I love the connection to the Birds of Paradise flower - my favorite <3

I CANNOT pick just one. These clothes have intrigued me for a long time, a bit out of my price range but breathtaking. That said, The Roslagen coat would transition me from LA to Portland this winter with panache.

I love the Iris Lyocell Dress, especially the red version. So simple and happy, and it looks like it layers really well.

The "Roslagen" cotton coat is the loveliest thing. (The embroidered section in the back...!!) I'd get in black for maximum utility, but it sure is pretty in the other colors.
Love it!

As it so happens, I'm wearing a Gudrun Sjödén shirt right now! I'd heard of her from this blog and was excited to come across a couple of her stores while traveling in Sweden this summer. It's totally worth the browse! I really wanted to buy everything there.

Always the best recommendations from you!
I love the high tops:
"Krumelur" cotton-twill hi-tops, size 40.
I have been trying to maintain a shoe fast (as in, don't buy any more for awhile) but the high tops, and the polka dot sneakers and the nubuck boots may be more than my will power can stand.
Thanks for the great find!
